I'm just looking to stay under $1000 for the lift and get the best bang for my buck. I do a lot of driving for work so it is a highway queen but I do take it off road once in a while. The stock suspension does fine for me at the moment so I'm not dying for a new setup but if a good deal arises I may jump on it.

    Long trip indeed.
I used to make suicide weekend runs to fish for Steelhead.
I-90 was a desolate road at night.
Seems that all the signs said "Buffalo-300" even after going an additional 100.

Are you looking for more height only? Or height & performance? Or something else?

Loved those miles to Buffalo signs. Recall seeing those on trips as a kid.

If he didn't drive off when I walked out I would have. The kid was backing up when the instructor saw me, put it in drive and drove up the street. To me that says he knows it is an issue. They have an area all set up in a parking lot at the Vocational school just up the street

Not worth it. Your money will be better spent on 5100s in my opinion. I don’t see how that would lift your truck like he claims, it’s just a stock suspension set up... I don’t see any blocks or spacers so me thinks it’s BS.

I was guessing it was that shop. Drive by it everyday to go to work. They will have cars on displays outside a lot. They are freaking awesome. Some cool FJ40s.

Ride wise you’ll be about the same. Maybe a little softer but barely noticeable. You’ll might gain an inch but since there’s 15k on them you’ll probably just sit where your truck was brand spanking new. The problem with suspension lifts is it’s very fast to go down the rabbit hole.
Reason for it is it’s always just a bit more to keep upgrading and pretty soon you’ll upgrade right into a long travel setup.
On my 2015 I went with the Bilstein 6112s in the front and the RCD tuned 5100s in the rear with the Dakar leaf pack. The ride was actually pretty awesome, handled heavy loads just fine, and helped with towing. You do need to leave 200-300 pounds in the rear otherwise it can be a little bouncy over some bumps.
That setup with literally every odd and end set me back around $1,500. That included the front strut mounts rear brake lines and all the other odds and ends. That did mean I had to hunt online and buy parts from different places. So it took some research of finding lowest price and then lowest shipping. For one stop click just go to Headstrong Offroad you’ll probably pay $150 or so more but it’s one click and done.

If you can swing the 6112s price it is million times better then the 5100s. If your budget is set and can’t go above, when you get the 5100s make sure they are the RCD tuned ones cause they do actually ride a little better. And I do recommend new front coils to get the correct height and new strut top mounts

I talked to Brian for like an hour one night about wheeling. I actually work with his brother and my old boss took his dump body f350 there to be fixed.

Fishing up in NY I assume? I have been planning to make a trip for the Steelhead run for some time now. Where abouts have you gone? I was looking at Salmon or Oswego river but everything seems so crowded up there during the runs!

I use to go regularly back in the 80's and 90's.
Fished between Rochester and Watertown with most creeks in-between. I tried to avoid the crowds and explored a lot of the smaller creeks that held fish.
A friend used to have a house right on the Salmon at the lower end and that was the cat's azz.
