I made my own bed lights for about $15. I used 6" long wired connectors that have white ends & pinches onto the "ribbon" LED strip. I'm going to redo my connections as I feel it's a weak link. Which connectors are you using & do you solder them as well or no connectors w/just solder or ? Here's a pic.
    Thanks.

Solders are going to be more brittle. Look at any aerospace installation--no soldered connections.

Use glued heat shrink over butt connectors:

I can't use those on "ribbon" LED's because you have to attach the wire to flat, paper thin + and - copper.

My apologies--I clearly didn't understand what you were asking. Connectors will fit better, but it is a fixed install so soldering right to the pads on the strips will work just fine.

Whether you decide to solder or use the connectors you're currently using. Use some dielectric grease on the connection points and some heat shrink over it to help protect the connections

I use those strips for under cabinet lighting often. I agree the little white connectors aren't up to long term usage, especially in weather. So what I do is solder them on to my wire, and then encapsulate the whole thing with silicone or hot-melt glue. This helps act as a strain relief on the wires as well. I usually use a screw-mount zip tie 1-2" away for additional strain relief.
