I assume this is directed at me? I am also not sure what you are asking... I drive a double cab Taco, but that picture is from the inside looking out of my teardrop trailer.

I like the tear drops also. But the price! And I'm pretty much The Hulk. Sans all the muscles. Sans the hair. Sans the green tint. Sans indestructible stature. I can see myself getting up to relieve myself in the middle of the night and bumping (smashing really) into every edge, wall, everything on the way out.

I really want one of those RTTs and a bed rack but..... when I'm camping, I'm also drinking.

Don't want to wake up hanging by one leg from one of the steps of the ladder. Can't imagine trying to navigate a ladder in the middle of the night to take a wizz. That's laughable.

If you put a cassette toilet in the annex and leave the lid open you can test your hulk like accuracy.

Phantom Canyon...very easy but scenic drive that even a Prius can do. A little narrow in some spots, but nothing like most of us are used to dealing with normally. The road used to be part of a railroad...the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad. It's part of a loop that includes Shelf Road, which I hit last year. Some interesting geological features, for sure.

Not sure why I'm surprised anymore, but there were a lot of trashed campsites and more than a few transient camps set up. I was also surprised by the sheer number of people camping there considering it's only April. We're in for a crowded camping season.

Did part of Leavenworth Creek Road on Sunday. Up until roughly the 3.5 mile mark the road is pretty easily passable, with intermittent dry and snowy sections. There's a wide spot in the road at 3.5 miles with a branch off to a spur road - makes for a parking/turn around area. Beyond this point the road curves just enough to be mostly in the shade, so the snow beyond here is 2+ feet deep. I wouldn't recommend going past this point unless you've got lockers and a winch. Spent about an hour digging someone out who was under equipped for the road - they had slid off into the ditch where snow was 4+ feet deep. Unfortunately I forgot to grab pictures.

Has anyone ever gone exploring at Pawnee National Grasslands? I was thinking about exploring that area instead of Poudre Canyon for my trip this year. Wasn't sure if you guys had any info.

I grew up out in that area and never explored Pawnee. I love the mountains but only have Saturday evening to Monday for the exploring time, don't know if we'd have enough time to set-up camp in the mountains on Saturday. I've explored a lot of Laramie River road area, but if you know of some good areas that would be open Memorial Day weekend I'd be interested in hearing.

Pawnee; camping available along the road, no wheeling roads, some hiking trails out to the buttes. Off trail hiking, raptors around the buttes. Road may be impassable if wet.

In my friend's Tundra...as I have some stuff to do to my truck before going on any real trips. Cordova Pass...Spanish Peaks area. Honestly my friend thought that it would be a bit tougher. Mud, snow, etc. It wasn't, which was--and is--alarming. Too damn dry.

Love the distant view...knowing that I'll soon be there...

A bit closer...bugs are being murdered by the windshield.

A closed ski run...maybe one day.

At the pass. Just above 11,200 ft.

    P5053191.jpg

Start of the hike to see the peaks and views. Fun fact: on the way back, my bud saw something drop down from the tree to the left there...he thought at first that it was a dog attached to another hiker...then I saw it...no hiker; slim; long tail; jumped back in the tree. We backtracked a bit and circled around...it was gone. Pretty sure that it was a mountain cat.

She won't drink the water in her goddamn bowl...too high-class for that. Only the best mountain snow.

Greenhorn Mountain...on my list for the summer.

Blanca Peak on the right. What does the snowpack tell you?

West peak...east is just to the right there.

    Wet Mountains...not particularly wet.

Anyone have recommendations on East->West trails in Northern CO that are open this time of year and would be okay for a stock 2WD? I'm in the area and want to do some stuff but my buddy has 2WD only.

7 mile. If you post this in the Colorado BS thread you’ll get a better response.
