Went on a Coleman Collectors campout in Death Valley over the weekend, mostly Norcal members, one or two from Socal. Most of us I believe had to drive seven or eight hours one way. Camped out at Panamint Springs Resort, a few guys brought their dual sport motorcycles to do some sight seeing. One younger member collects vintage stuff, has a Gilkie travel trailer he uses some from 1935. He said he usually brings his Land Rover to DV, but had a 2005 I believe Taco this trip.

It was really neat, came with vintage cooking gear and associated items when he got it. Really nice young man. He uses old gear, cooked on a old Coleman stove, model 2E I think or some "2".

I have had Coleman tents and my vintage Coleman Oscar cooler was stolen from my old truck years ago. It I really like their old products

LOL, that camper pic brings back memories because my dad had one but it was older. He also had another one but can't remember the brand but I believe it was made in Norwich NY. My dad collected Model T Fords and the campers he had he towed behind them. There are still 2 or 3 of his friends in this area that still have them. It was kinda neat but look at that camper and imagine towing it behind a 20hp Model T. The other thing is Model T has a brake in the trans and an emergency brake to just the rear wheels and no front brakes whatsoever. Thanks for sharing the pics.

The trailer was real cool, then add in the old camping goodies that came with it, really neat. The owner Linus has a '31 Merc I believe he told me too. He keeps track of known owners of different things, one is the Gilkie owners, less than ten I think.

I think I would like the way that sets up better than the newer ones. Looks more spacious in some ways.

I haven't looked at modern tent trailers, but this one has some neat features like the awning over the windows.
