    So I have a question I was hoping you other towing experts might be bale to answer;

    My front GAWR is 2755 & my rear is 3110 which would equal 5865 if you loaded the truck perfectly. My GVWR is listed at 5450...I don't have my current weight of front, rear & total but I will be getting that tomorrow.

    Why would your GVWR be almost 415lbs less than what the axles are rated for...? Or am I missing something/ reading something wrong.

    Also, where can I find my specific trucks GCVWR & Towing Capacity? I have the original manual at home but I don't see that info stamped anywhere...

    Good question about the axle weight, can't wait to hear the answer...lol.

    Your towing is 3500 without the towing package and 6500 with the towing package (I think). You have 4 or 6 cylinder?

    I'm 2006 DCSB SR5 V6 Auto with Factory Tow Package. Wasn't sure how much variation in the 6500lb rating their was but looking at the manual online from 2006 it states flat out 6500.

    So my GCVWR would either be 11,950 based on GVWR or 12,365 based on towing + F&R GAWR.

    So many confusing numbers.

    I never owned a truck until a year ago, this is my first. Yeah, all the different weight ratings really boggled my mind. I didn't know anything about this stuff until I got my truck. I think that all 2nd gens that have the tow package have a rating of 6500. I have personally towed about 6200 lbs and it did awesome (car trailer + car).
