I just retired from commercial hvac, and will be doing some ac work on my two cars. I probably have at least three different, good, older, refrigerant manifold sets set up for the older 1/4" npt standard, (the universal standard before we went from R-12 to R134a).

I originally bought add on, screw in, bayonet adapters for the newer R134a systems, but those adapters never popped on or came off right. I guess mine just were not manufactured correctly.

Anyhow my manifolds are fine. But I want to replace the now 12 year old hoses with dedicated R-134a hoses/automotive bayonet style because to me they are less hassle.

This is for people who work with car AC a lot. What would be a good source for the hoses I want ? Typically I would be adding refrigerant from a can or bottle.

If you retired what local supply houses do they know you on a first name basis ??
That is where I would buy my AC goodies .Unless things are really different down there.
