You wont find a decent gas powered chainsaw for $100 bucks, $300-400 is more like it.

They do make 9" pruning blades for the recip saws that tear through limbs nicely. And for here and there they are nice as long as you're cutting smaller stuff and have batteries.

Safety wise... Good idea to have chaps since the last thing you'd want is a nice gash in your leg in the middle of nowhere. Chaps that I've seen say they will not work for electric chain saws due to the instant torque they have. The chaps work by pulling fabric from the middle of the chap and will clog and shut down a saw at WOT in no time leaving you with a bruise vs a stump (at best).

Like @TMFF mentioned, I use Deutsch connectors for a lot of my stuff. I used 6-pole Deutsch connectors for the pigtails coming off of my rear chase lights:

The Switch-pro panel in the engine compartment only has leads for positive current though, so it just comes down to how much you think your electrical accessories will change over time with replacements/upgrades. A terminal strip makes that a lot easier, but a single pole weatherproof connector would do the same thing. It just looks a little messier and you're going to spend more time chasing leads.

We all won. I think we found and cleared two trees (larger being 25" in diameter) in 45 minutes and closed off the illegal atv/utv go around.

And if you do happen to get stuck, maybe you'll get lucky...some homeless guy will pop out of the bushes and just start pushing your rig. If he does tell him I said hi and thanks again :anonymous:

That trail is going to need clearing again in a month or more if anyone wants to make the trek up here and earn some trail karma.

Also, I'm in need of some machine work to be done to the output shaft of my fj40 project. Need a hole to be drilled and tapped for a 1/2 in bolt. Now the shaft is very hard. took it to one shop, didn't scratch it. Anyone up to the challenge or know of someone who can help?
