No more boys scouts

It all depends on the troop and what they want to do there are extremely active ones that meet at the church our BS troop is chartered to and they do just as much as the boys. There are big differences in how the GS are structured compared to BS.

True, but there's no institutional support from 'big girl scouts'.

In most of the world, scouting is co-ed anyway. Also, it's not like sea scouts and explorers haven't been co-ed.

and you'll be glad to hear so far zero pregnancies

 

Yeah. Life is co-ed, so it's not like it's any big deal to have girls in scouting. Many fathers do a poor job of teaching their daughters outdoor skills anyway, so it's needed. We (scout masters and scouts) thoroughly enjoyed our time in scouts in Europe with it's co-ed aspect.

 

Venture Scouts, too.

We have an ASM that was a Scout in France.

 

Also...

 

Scouting in France was cool. My son had his Arrow of Light ceremony on Omaha Beach.

 

I was in the boy scouts when I was in grade school, as was every other boy in my small Catholic school. None of the fathers fished or camped since this was in Chicago and the mothers ran the program. We basically just made Christmas decorations.

This is probably why I joined the infantry when the war broke out.

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY POST THE TRUTH. When I was a Boy in Scouts we always talked about, fantasy talked, dreamed, of panty raids. I think very highly of Scouting & what it has taught me. This could be a double edged sword. The Boy Scout organization has always has bad "press" for the "fondling" of boys. I will give the no more talk than that. But you still have that element in Scouting. Now will we have the "fondling" of girls. I hope not.


Woman & Men are equals- all else is conjecture and coffee room snobishry. I have a friend that used to go into bars and pick fights. Just to say this line"I'm not going to fight you but I'll let my girlfriend kick your ass." She was held a black belt in several martial arts. And often did mop the floor with the sap that challenged her.
