I'm six months from living in New Orleans again and this place is dead as fuck. We need more action, the Texas threads have spoiled me. What's going on down in the swamp?

Lol. This thread seems to stay quiet. Most folks post up in the Cajun Yotas FB page, but I have trouble even staying tuned in over there. Hopefully I'll be set up for some light wheeling/truck camping in the not-too-distant future.

    Edit: Dope rig, btw.

I was part of the original exodus from TW to the facebook but it's too busy and there's too much shit I don't care about there. I will definitely be on your side of the lake on occasion but have zero desire to explore any of the mud around Pontchartrain. If I'm feeling the itch I'll follow the hordes of jeeps to Tunica Hills.

Moved to Lake Charles 6 wks ago from Houston. Where are the places to go off roading (not mudding)?

kisatchie national forest is a nice place, i usually drive around and when i see a small dirt road i take it. sometimes it get me out to another road other times i find myself having to turn around. now it is still Louisiana so after a bit of rain expect to find some mud, nothing crazy but enough to scare the crap out of your wife and kids!

Wheeling in LA is rare, there is Sicily Island but if you're going to drive 3 hours might as well drive 4 and go to Barnwell Mountain in Texas.

My old neck of the woods. Even though I lived there most of my life, I never did get around to exploring it too much.

Tunica? From what I understand there is only the private land that some dude in the Jeep club allows occasional access to. Not sure if there is any public Access stuff.

I didn't think there was much technical stuff in this part of the country. I am going to Barnwell in May for Jambo.

Tunica is just north of Baton Rouge, like 6 rocks and maybe 100' of elevation change. Sicily Island is in NE Louisiana and has decent terrain for wheeling but not on par to Barnwell.

Hello to all you LA folks, I've only been a TW member for several months and I'm just getting around to finding this Louisiana thread. Figured I'd share a photo of my truck and say hey to all my fellow swamp dwellers. I'm a Baton Rouge boy by the way.

Don't know if this is the same place in Tunica Hills someone else on here recently mentioned, but i did find this place while searching online. Not sure if only offering "guided" trail access, or if you can roam around.

That looks like the spot, when I went out there we meet at the same spot but I got in free because it was my first event with the 4wd club

Me either! I always wave! There are some pretty sweet Tacos in the Lafayette area, but I think I've only seen one who is a member on here. Never seen another TacomaWorld sticker in the wild.

I need another since the new-to-me topper obscures all of my window decals. So much more room for decals now! Extra HP! :yay:
