What cams do you run? I recently installed a front cam, an Anker C1 I believe, and have been serious considering a rear but most cams are designed with the slope of the windshield in mind, they wouldn't work with the flat rear Tacoma glass. Also where do you have it mounted that it doesn't block the line of sight through the rear view mirror?

The rear cam is small, I have it mounted near the top of the back window. Doesn't block my view at all.

Ah one processor, two apertures. Didn't know such a thing existed though I don't suppose I am surprised. Just new to the dash cam world.

A lot of EU countries require by law a dashcam now.

It won't surprise me if it doesn't become mandatory or will start being built into the vehicles at some point here in the US...it is good insurance for a small price.

We already know the TSS system takes pictures in the event of a crash. Wont be long before it takes video too. Would be trivial tech to build in.

Yes, super nifty and probably better integration. But...... I’ll bet they integrate gps and speed into the video. Makes sense from a liability standpoint.

Holy shit, really? I take commute on Mira Mesa Blvd every day and this happens to me almost every other day. Never once thought I'd be even 1% liable.

Pretty sure the insurance company would fault the other guy for running a red light.

I wish the insurance companies ran a site where you could upload footage like this and the raise the rates on those people.

Wow, OP, glad your brakes work so well! That could have been nasty.

Too many unknown factors. I could also see this being abused by disgruntled, ex's. etc. When tech can filter out any type of abuse/mis-use then we might see something like this.

Not that they prevent stupidity was your DRLs on? The intersection looks a little funky with the right turn lane ending at the traffic signal. No excuse for pisspoor driving, but pisspoor engineering of infrastructure can cause a lot of crashes. I wonder what the rate of crashes is at that intersection under those same circumstances.

I have the same as the OP Thinkware F800, I also have the rear cam too. It's small and doesn't block vision at all.

Not necessarily. A coworker of mine was in a very similar situation, yet my coworker was found mostly at fault because he had the “best chance” to avoid the accident, despite the stupidity of the other driver. 21st Century Insurance. Naturally, he cancelled his policy and went with someone else.
