Sorry for the really late review Fredisasian. You probably already purchased an exhaust. I've been so busy I didn't get a chance to install the spec-u until this past weekend. Yeah, the spec-u has been sitting in my garage for like 5 months. I put about 100 miles on it so far. Here's my comparison/review.

    Sound:
Spec-U = Has a pretty nice and loud rumble from 1K to 3K rpm. Once you go over 3K rpm the exhaust gets fairly quiet. I was surprised how quiet it got at the higher rpm's. The exhaust note sounds more like a sports car rather than a truck.

Borla = Didn't rumble quiet as loud, but the exhaust note was continuous and didn't really quiet down at the higher rpm's. The exhaust note definitely had a higher pitch than the spec-u. I can't say if I like the sound of the spec-u more than the Borla.....it's just different.

    Power:
Spec-U = I don't know if it's just in my head, but it feels like I'm getting better throttle response with the Spec-U. It also feels like acceleration is much smoother and quicker. Overall my butt dyno is telling me I'm getting a little more power or at least the power delivery has improved.

Borla = I can't say I felt any noticeable difference in power when I swapped out my stock exhaust for the Borla.

    Fit:
Spec-U = I think URD can improve on the fit. The y-pipe fits OK, but I think the passenger side of the y-pipe can be routed a little better. The pipe is almost sitting on top of the exhaust hanger. I don't think the driver side needs the hanger, but would have been nice to have one (there's no hanger on the driver's side pipe). The 3 rear hanger bars by the muffler and tailpipe needs to be mounted better. The rubber hangers are stretching quite a bit because the hanger bars are not long enough or just in the wrong location. Not a big deal because the rubber hangers shouldn't just slide off from the tension, but would be nice if the rubber hangers weren't being stretched out so much. I could probably play around with it a little more to try and improve the fit, but I got tired of messing with it. I don't really care for the angle on the tailpipe. I think the tailpipe sits a little low. I'm leaning towards cutting the pipe off right after the last hanger. I guess we'll see. I like the v-band connection for sure and the clearance on the y-pipe is awesome. Overall, it fits OK and I didn't have any real issues installing it.

Borla = Fits better than stock. Hangers are in the right place and the tailpipe isn't angled down so much (sits tight to the body). A+ for fit and very easy installation since it's just connecting to the stock y-pipe.

    Smell:
Spec-U = Not sure if it's just the new exhaust burning off some residual oils/coating or if it's because the secondary CATs got removed, but it has a noticeable exhaust smell. I'm not talking about the usual exhaust smell from the tailpipe if you're standing near it while running. It's not really bad, but I can definitely smell it. Once in a while I'll smell it inside the cab while running the AC. Definitely can smell it when I park and get out of the truck (while it's not running). I thought I might have an exhaust leak so I re-tightened all of the bolts/clamps, but the smell didn't go away. However, I noticed that the smell is starting to dissipate. The smell is definitely not as pronounced as it was the first day. Hopefully the smell eventually goes away completely. I remember when I changed out my stock CAT to a high flow CAT on my AUDI the exhaust smell never completely went away. I guess I'll see what happens, only time will tell.

Borla = I remember having some exhaust smell initially, but I never smelled it in the cab. Eventually I didn't smell anything unusual at all.

Overall, I think the Spec-U is a great purchase, I'm loving it so far!!.....:bananadance:

    Merry Christmas Everyone!!:santa:

I'm thinking about getting this exhaust on my truck. If possible could you send me a sound clip of it? Can't find anything on this exhaust yet..

Thanks for that write up. The thing that stopped me from getting the Spec-U is the fitting..

My current setup is MBRP catback (3") with a 14" Stainless 3" center I/O muffler from Summit Racing, sounds good, still deciding if I like it or want to try the MBRP muffler that came with it too. The muffler case is a little shorter than the MBRP muffler (26" overall length vs 20" with the summit)
Sounds decent, but its still a V6, so im still debating if I like it enough to keep it or just go back to stock....
