A thread to discuss the classics, maybe brag on a collection. What’re you playing?

    Super Metroid, SNES:

Nice collection. I would love to have a setup like this but I've gone to the dark side of buying digital games. Always enjoyed having physical copies but its much easier already having the game stored on the system, with an external hard drive.

I totally agree with the convenience factor, and I do buy many games digitally (mostly multiplayer) that I want to jump into quickly. I know these games won't have longevity anyway so I'm ok with a digital copy only.

I try to buy anything else physically because my worry is the same as many other collectors, once the servers go down and you can no longer download the game then it's gone. As someone who still enjoys playing games that are 20+ years old on SNES or Genesis, I know I will be playing PS3 and PS4 20+ years from today. I did buy a lot of games digitally on PS3 and now regret it because the PS3 store will only be around for a few more years. The PSP store has already been shut down.

I worry about the whole server going down issue and losing games but I'll deal with that when the time comes, many people will be in the same boat. I'm sure they will have something in place by then so you won't lose anything.

I also have a small collection of older games, I just buy them usually from flea markets not necessarily to play them but just to display them.

Let's see your collection! I'm always curious to see what other people collect.

Some of my stuff. I have a lot more not pictured. I'm the the original owners of those systems and games with the exception of the SNES and Master System II stuff, which I got on eBay.

I had the original master system with the built in Moto gp game...

And I thought I was the only one left alive who had a Sega CD.

Anybody remember the 3DO?! Best games I ever played we're on that platform.
    POed
    Killing Time
    Original Gex
    Road Rash Series
Some other space game I can't remember the name of...

I remember the 3DO. Never had one or got to play one. I did have an Atari Jaguar back in the day, some great games on that platform too!

Just purchased "Midway Arcade Treasures" vols 1 and 3 for the PlayStation 2. Great stuff! Too bad some of the games don't transfer well to the PS controllers, I guess they did the best they could.

Don't forget the Capcom, Namco, Activision, Sega Genesis and Atari compilations for the PS2.
