KB Voodoo remote start issue

2018 Tacoma sport. Installed the KB Voodoo remote start and could not get the light to change from red to green. I uninstalled the system and now I have this error code.I I checked all my fuses which are good and even disconnected the negative cable from the battery and still no help...did I just mess my new truck up or possibly void my warranty? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I had to guess, it looks like you may have cut completely through (or messed with it’s grounding) the wire that tells the ECU that the brake is pressed.

 

Unfortunately, very possibly.

 

As to the warranty; worst case Toyota will void warranty on the part you are having issues with. They can't void for other parts of the truck like power train etc unless they can prove your modification had direct affect on such components.

That center info cluster... glad I don’t have it. To have a malfunction AND have them suggest the dealer knows better than me would be aggravating in the moment.

 

Got the problem fixed..put everything back to its original condition while battery was disconnected... Reconnected battery... problem solved... I think I will look for my receipt for KB Voodoo and get my money back... Not a necessity I need to have nor worth the headache Imo.

 

They voided my warranty for my FUEL system because I had aftermarket plug n play headlights. Apparently that allows sand into the system...

 

Looks pretty fucked to me... never even knew there was a screen like that.

 

I could see that .... you accidentally spilled sand into your gas tank while changing your light bulbs. It's a thing apparently, at your dealership.

 

Love my kbvoodoo remote start. No issues and great to get truck warmed up.

 

Wait, what did I just read...and you let them have final say? Ask them to show you exactly where the sand flows from point A to B, starting at the headlights...

I would love to fuel up from my headlights one day...

you didn't happen to also change your tail lights or bulbs? same error

 

Faulty bulbs perhaps? Did you disconnect the battery, remove and put back the stock? Error go away? You don’t need to disconnect the battery for bulb work, but for the reset to take affect.

That sucks and probably what would have happened if I start cutting wires in mine. Plug and play remote start was the way to go for me.
