May need to have windshield on 2018 replaced. After getting a quote from a local glass shop, they told me they would have to get the OEM glass from Toyota as they didn’t have any in stock. They also told me that due to the lane departure camera/hardware mounted near top of windshield, that I would have to bring in to dealer to get “recalibrated” as they could not perform that sericve.

Is that a legit service requirement for a new windshield? Figured the cameras just got refastened and it was good to go...

What happened to your windshield. My 2016 had a windshield leak from the factory took them 3 attempts to fix it and they finally just replaced it as the actual glass was warped. I didn't have and TSS sensor on the windshield but my guess is if its an OEM windshield I don't see why a recalibration is needed if the glass is going to be the same.

They also had to get an OEM Toyota windshield for replacement

If it's at all like a Mercedes with a camera in the windshield then yes calibration is required.
