I added puddle lights on all the doors plus foot well lights up front. Makes it easier to find lost stuff at night and see the ground before stepping out in wet, rainy PNW.

It's a handy feature here in the land of the wet and dark winter. These probably come standard on even a Yaris and pretty peeved that they aren't included. When I upgraded the JBL system, I gave the interior a sound deadening treatment and I put in a bunch of wiring for future custom electronics.

Here's a picture of what it looks like on a rear door. I got the lights from https://www.oznium.com/led-bolts-prewired-leds/led-bolt. This and other stuff is controlled via a bunch of Arduinos on an I2C databus. The two zip files are movies I took of it in-action. inside.zip shows the fade to off for the footwell lights. outside.zip shows how bright it is in a dim parking garage.

I installed the toyota LED illumination package and it came with puddle lights and front foot well lights. Looks good overall. Was thinking of tapping into the foot well lights and running a couple to the rear.
