I did some searching and can't seem to find a thread talking about fixing a circuit on the board since my overhead is no longer displaying. If anybody has that link much appreciated. It's for a 09 sport.

Will keep looking and post the link if I find it for anybody else.

Go on youtube, did my 07 from video on there. Re-solder resistor that gets over heated. FYI there is a after market circuit board that fixes for good. Not sure of website, google it.

    ps. your switch isn't off?

I tried the resistor fix, and that did not work for me. I ended up paying the $100 for a new board, which incidentally fixes the resistor issue anyways. I am happy with the replacement, and it now works after years of not working. I am not sure why I waited so long to fix it in the first place, lol.

Sounds pretty reasonable... Going to have to look into that avenue as well.

According to that, there is zero difference. However, does the 2009- have the compass/temp in the mirror? as opposed to the separate display, like in the 2005-2008?

I updated my post. I thought so, but I think the compass in the mirror started in 2012, when the backup cam's display is in the radio instead of the rearview mirror. :notsure:

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
Mine was the same way. Soldered the hell out of it and been working past few months. First time it didnt work. So do it again until it does. Its definitely worth a shot, instead of $124 replacement. Soldering kits on Amazon are cheap BTW.
