People take shit like this too serious.
If I ordered a custom knob and f'd up the install, with or without instructions, I would quietly tell the guy I bought it from how good it looks, order another knob from another source (so the original guy wouldn't think I couldn't find my ass with both hands) and do it right the second time.

The LAST thing I would do is post about me f'n up on Tacomaworld!

You have to screenshot it and then italicize the screenshot. I thought we went over this already.

Did you not receive the instructions?

I doubt that there are many Tacomas that haven't had something added by their owners, including me, however when you bring out the wrenches there is a risk of something going wrong no matter how slight. When you start removing or replacing parts on your truck and it starts going south there's only one place to put the blame. Not getting any love from me .

Is to to late to inquire as to what method was used to cut the knob off? Serious question actually. What kind of saw would be requied...

.001 thick coating on threads will lock up most threads solid. paint .001 on each side of the V on the inside thread and on the outside thread closes up the thread by .004. if cerakoting is a true embedded ceramic it is harder than both the shift shaft and the aluminium knob and will act like a lapping compound wedging as tight as a drum. No one paints threads. you want to paint threads use moly dry lube.

That is a bit BS. I haven't bought a knob from @7r41lbr34k3r . I did 3D print my own out of PET plastic. I made three versions and each had an issue threading on to the shaft until an M12x1.25 tap was delivered to clean up my printed threads. I could have wrenched that on there tight as fuck and been hosed as bad as the OP. Guess what, without instructions and someone nanny'ing over me, I figured it out without fucking up my Taco. I didn't blame the material peeps for the delay.

The OP fucked himself ALL by himself wrenching harder on it to align the engraving. Done.
