Great post! I have a 2013 TRD offroad... its my main vehicle(daily driver) that I was thinking about putting a 3” lift and some nice wheels and tires on, but it looks like new UCAs are a must. I just dont think I want to get back into that... Ive had lifted Jeeps in the past.

I'm thinking of putting OR shocks and struts on my SR5 and was wondering if anybody has done this and how it turned out for them?

Hello all. I need information about my truck. I've read some basics but really need to know where to go. I bought my truck at Christmas. I love it. But I didnt know any better. It has a bracket lift. It came with 35s and I've swapped them to 33s. Its low mileage and needs nothing. But I want to know what my options are. I'd like high quality shocks when the stock parts wear out. It's either a 4 or 6 inch lift. I dont really wheel it, but it would be nice if i did. Feedback welcomed.

Howdy, looking for a little advice. I have a 2017 DCLB TRD Tacoma Off-Road. I've put on Toyo M/T 255/85/16, RCI skid plates (front, transfer, transmission), snug top, and bajarack. The constant weight above the bed comes out to approx. 250 lbs. This is my hunting/weekend warrior/daily commuter to the cubicle vehicle. I'd like to put a small lift (1.5"), so when I'm weighted down going out to the hunting spot, I don't stuff it on a turn and rub anything; in-town driving it's fine. Bilstein came out with the 8112/8100 combo, and I can't seem to divert my attention from it. The rear shocks are limited to 1.5" lift. Any suggestions on AAL or leaf packs? I have no gauge for what to expect in terms of sag. I won't over load the truck with gear durning hunting since I have a M101a3 to pull, but I'll definitely put gear back there. Your suggestions and advice are appreciated.

Really good info here, I will be using a lot of it and asking tons of questions when the time comes to start doing some of these things to my truck.

You might want to Consider Old Man Emu Heavy duty package ,about 2" Lift and 600 capacity in bed and should be level . That would be a good set up for Deer Hunting , camping etc.

Let's just call it my 401K.
I just installed the same leafs in back and have a vibration from 19-25mph. I installed the ome carrier bearing drop. Did you install a pinion angle shim? If so, what degree?

I installed The OME FK29 Carrier bearing drop kit and yes it helped with the Vibration at takeoff and the 40 mph range as well as the 50 to 60 mph .Still have a minute vibration so I might jump to a 3/8 spacer .There is several CBD threads on here that go over this topic and they have gone as far as 1/2 to 3/4 .

Why don't you guys measure the angles and pick the product that gets you back in spec? The way you guys are talking about it, it sounds like the shotgun approach.

Genuinely curious. I placed this onto my truck 2016 double cab OR 2WD (see attached photo) including stock OR wheels and 285's BFG KO2sScreen Shot 2018-09-12 at 9.13.56 AM.jpg
I have added spacers + remove mudflaps to prevent any rubbing. Now I don't off road just daily driver of course since its 2WD. I simply wanted the lift aesthetic but I am beginning to hear creaks. Do y'all think I'm fine, my father is a service manager of over 25 years at multiple dealers including Toyota. He says I'm fine but I'd like to hear others' thoughts.

I have a 2018 TRD 4x4 LBDC Tacoma. I've read through about have of these replies and still super confused on what would work best in the long run with lifting my truck. I dont do a lot of off roading and spend most the time on the road. I'm looking to have a higher ride height more then ground clearance. I dont mind spending I little money but nothing crazy. I just rather not deal with any ride problems down the road with the lift. What would be recommended for a lift? I thought about doing a spacer/block lift, but not completely convinced that will be the way to go for me. I will be running stock tires for a while but plan to upgrade a little bigger but not much. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
