C8BE5A21-B7D3-49DB-A767-8F87258F2495.jpg I’m super into xeriscape. I should actually probably be in a therapy group. There’s so much shit going on that the neighbors don’t notice the weeds. That’s my unintended strategy I guess.

Getting enough of the root out so that it can't grow back is the key if you're going to pull them, and this is the tool. I've been weeding with one of these, and building up the thickness of my grass. Maybe slower than chems, but it's getting the job done.

I don’t miss lawn maintenance at all. Out here, if it rains it grows and if it don’t rain you don’t mow :D

Trash people missed my house again. I called them after they missed last last week. Might just do a CC charge back and get service from someone else.

I have 2 completely full cans and a couple of extra bags since they missed last time. And that's after I took some to throw away in the dumpster at work.

Yeah I’m over it. Would like to move to a 30 acre + lot with native grass and build a small house. Maybe out of concrete.

I’ve been mulching from the start. Bagging the first couple sounds like a good idea actually. I run my mower high too so it leaves the grass on the longer side.

@mountainmonkey You're going about this all wrong. The definition of a weed is any plant that grows where you don't want it to. Welcome the dandelions into your life. Accept their presence. Embrace their beauty. Only then can you truly live weed-free.

Just kidding. Dig each one out with a long screw driver and squirt some weed killer in the hole.

Yup, that's what the wife uses. Must be why they are getting better, plus she is extra cautious with the ones that are ready to blow seeds everywhere.

I gave up on broad leaf killer several years ago. I just fertilize the hell out of it with spoiled milk and hydrogen peroxide.

This ^^^^right here is the ticket, it's pretty constant in the spring but tapers off after a few weeks.
I made my own cause I don't like them to bend and this gets the root all the way out.

Good call...been using that since I got back from Greenland 2 weeks ago, and now my main concern is the FUCKING mosquitos! Those things are out of control in my neighborhood. I sprayed the flowers and trees yesterday, put some "oil based safe for kids and pets" stuff on the lawn today. Probably going to spray the trees again this weekend. Although, I can only do what I can do. Still gotta get the surrounding neighbors onboard with killing those little hypodermic vampires!

Remove sources of standing water nearby. That’s where they live and breed. I’ve never heard of spraying vegetation for mosquitos.

Completely dry and no road closures. A little crowded, but definitely a great time out there :)

    that's actually version number 2.
Had to make a new one Sunday cause i couldn't find the original one I made 18 years ago. I think it was in the can with the weeds and other yard debris when it got dumped into the garbage can and went to the landfill.

That's why this one is bright red.

I dont think there is any snow on any of the open trails in the area. And most should be dry as can be. Shade, north facing, you're good to go.
