Can we meet halfway? Hopefully you can get someone local soon, dying to replace that plastic. Been having to walk on the rails to close up my RTT and I just feel every squishy part beneath me

Honestly, the short bed side rails caps for 3rd gen are slow sellers. The long bed will be even worse, and they take up a lot of shelf space. It may never happen.

I think the only thing that will help that, is a lighter topper.

Been interested in these for a few yr’s but curious having TC Bed Stiffeners if simply running a longer bolt will work being the fact that you don’t want to over tighten the factory bolt with the bed stiffeners alone because of the possibility of it breaking/snapping(stated through TC)?

Also are these available without the slots cut out on the top or is this the standard product?0E8C5FB5-2DE4-4C3F-8ECD-3CB08C683703.jpg

We no longer put the stake pocket holes in the side rail caps.

I've seen some threads where people did it, but I'm not really familiar with those bed side stiffeners.

Hey all, reviving this old thread with a question:
Has anyone installed these and then a Retrax cover? I ordered these a while back and through a series of unfortunate events, haven't gotten around to replacing the rail caps. Now I'm getting ready to install the Retrax cover and I'm debating if these two items will work nicely together.

    Thanks!

Just did the same thing using the Yakima Bedrock. I noticed that I crushed the OEM plastic caps when first installing the rack, giving me some pause about the sturdiness of the setup.

The KB caps allayed these concerns; they're awesome and super easy to install. Best of all, you can use the short rail adapters now instead of the long ones, which *should* be more secure.

Ill secons that for reviving this thread. And if available for gen3 yet. Or an alternative. Removed mine that were set up for the oem trifold cover. Had to remove the locking pins and bed cap for a bed rack spare tire mount. In need of a replacement bed rail cap for both sides.

Completely disappointed about this product. After installation it's impossible properly install of ARE DCU Utility Canopy. It's sitting to low in rails. Even I added 1/2 inch shims to raise canopy of the rails. Gap on tailgate to big and don't give positivity closed rear door. Also interfirence with bed stiffeners.
Not recomended if you planning install canopy on your truck or have bed stiffeners that goes all way to the top of bed.

Is there a defect in the item? Is it some way not as described on our website: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/powder-coated-tailgate-cap-system

IMO, KB Voodoo side rail caps are legit. Highly recommended. However, Camper Shell & Tonneau Covers are designed to work with OEM plastic bed rail caps. So far, No work around.
