I have a 2007 prerunner. I bought the truck being told it was the fuel pump. Long story short you can’t turn the crank pully with a long braker bar. Is the motor locked up?

Pull out all of the spark plugs and try turning it by hand again.

I would drain the tranz oil and look for metal. An easy test. I would also pull the starter to make sure it isn't locked with the flywheel.

plugs are out so no airlock.... I'd say shes seized up...maybe troubleshoot a bit more before coming to any conclusions. I had the same problem and was told to put diesel in and try... I just swapped the engine. best of Luck

You could put a small amount of diesel fuel in each cylinder and let it soak for a day or two then try again. But so far it sounds like it is locked up tight. How long did it sit before you bought it. You may have been screwed, but I guess you don't need me to point that out.

Drain the oil and drop the pan. See what the crank and rods look like from underneath.

The starter is new. I replaced it on Saturday . This is what I got. I bought a 07 with the right hand side of the truck hit no big deal for me that’s what I do. I was told it need a fuel pump / starter. Got it to my place the starter is shot ok put a new one in can her the fuel pump kick on. New starter try’s to turn the motor but won’t. I took the plugs out put in marvel mystery oil in the plug hole(on Saturday)and try every day to turn the crank. I think the motor is done you guys agree? If so any one have a 4.0 for sale in SC for a good price?!!? And I did drain the oil smelled like moonshine and didn’t look right but no metal in it.

It sounds like it is a done deal if it has Marvel Oil for several days and it still will not move.

    Reman engine.

Get it on a lift, put it up and throw a floor jack handle or a 4 foot pipe over the breaker bar  got nothing to lose anyways

I wonder if bumping the truck while in gear might put more torque on the motor? Or since it is a manual, try rolling it then dump the clutch (in 3rd/4th gear)? Might pop it loose or might just skid the tires. I know the starters are very torquey but maybe its worth a shot. Good luck.

    Best advice in this thread.

If you cannot turn the crank with a breaker bar, when it is supposed to be easy enough to turn with a half inch ratchet, then there is either a bent rod, or all of the bearings are rusted together.

What is the more detailed history of the truck and engine?

Pull a valve cover. Let's see what mysteries lay beneath.
