Nice vehicle overall, i tuned mine to get rid of the EGR had no issues with it. Personally, the failure rate on them is really high so i wasn’t sleeping easy knowing some of the issues related to the engine. I also bought it used, so my APR was like 6% on it(last used dealership i got it from kind of did a switch on the financing rate and i didn’t notice) - took advantage of a very aggressive Toyota dealer and drove the Diesel for 6 months at a total cost of $700+ registration and insurance which i would have been paying anyway. Worked it into a 0.9% interest rate on the taco and got 2k off MSRP... overall the money factor wasn’t much higher because of the interest savings. I LOVE the Tacoma a lot more as it fits my needs a lot better.

I don’t tow, and my wife needs a vehicle she can handle during bad weather as well since she’s driving a diesel Jetta with FWD. Much more versatility and not having to plug the truck in etc etc.

Probably have the dealer or another shop do it- i know a lot of people with the manual transmission do it- necessary on the auto?
