Don’t get hung up on websites saying a shock is for x amount of lift. The correct way to know what shock you need is to measure your extended and compressed lengths then pick a shock in that range. I also have the 118s and they will be going on with Dakar mediums in the next couple weeks.

FYI: make sure you have the correct bump stop spacer for your shocks.
-117's require 1" of bump stop spacer
-118's require 1.50" of bump stop spacer

Also note your trade-offs between up travel and down travel.

It's important to have a balanced suspension...

Just to be clear you’re adding that spacer to the stock bumps?

Yes, exactly, make the axle bottom out on the frame 1.0" or 1.5" before it does stock.

Easiest solution is getting a u-bolt flip with 1" pedestal.

Thanks for the clarification. Funny you mention @ARCHIVE, he is only 20 mins from me. I plan on picking up that exact setup.

I have the medium dakar (elo95r) and 118's. it's def the way to go. I also have superbumps front and rear with all-pro u bolt flip kit. This set up all together is money. I have 8 months of all kinds of terrain, environment, and speed on this set up and very pleased.

Not true if you have 118's and a full Dakar pack. I'm using stock bump stock and the above set and it's perfect.

I adjusted my 2.5’s to 27 threads today and am 1/4” nose high. I need some input here on my options...

I’m installing sliders soon, just waiting for shipment. Should they add about a 1/4” front end droop after install to level my truck? They are SOS Concepts.

I’m also considering putting my overload leaf back into my rear, but really don’t want to take off my rear shocks, they were a bitch to get in there.

I like having 2” of lift up front, so cranking the coilovers back down isn’t an option for me.

Adding the overload is an option but make sure your rear shocks are long enough to accommodate the extra height (3/4 inch if memory serves).

Do you have Dakar’s or just an AAL? When I did my AAL I never touched the shocks. You don’t need to remove them to work on the leaf pack.

    x2 on the shock length.

Leave it at 27 threads and add some skids, sliders, and other weight to bring it down. maybe an alum front bumper??

Just a 3-AAL in the rear. If I put my overload back in, I just hope theres enough extra room on my centering pin. I cut it down to 1/4” of thread left when I did the aal install.
Sliders are awaiting shipmemt. Skids are so tempting! I’ve already bashed my OEM skid and LCA on rocks, may be enough justification.....
