Switchpro 8100 corrosion

I have a SP 8100 system that was installed about 9 months ago. A couple a weeks ago my system completely shut down while driving. Upon inspection I found corrosion on the male control box pins, and the female connector pins. I cleaned the male pins, but had no way to clean thr females. After that the system worked as normal. However after pulling the rubber boot that goes over the positive battery lead to the box, I found even more corrosion. It looks as though it maybe coming out from around the lug. Im worried it could be corroding in the box. This is supposed to be a sealed system. Anyone else experience this before. I sent SP an email this past Monday with no reply. In the past they have responded within hours to any questions I have had.

 

Yes I had the same problem and freaked out. I called SP and was told to just mail it in for a replacement. Apparently they had a bad batch of them. Mine was date stamped 02/2017. I mailed it off last week just waiting for the replacement.

How does your connector look?

 

No I didn’t have any problems with it. I noticed the corrosion when I was under the hood cleaning my truck.

 

I meant the large multiwire connector that is next to the battery lead. You might want to check that as well. My pins are corroded. That’s actually what caused mine to quit working. Im going to ask them for a new harness.

 

Ohhhh. I didn’t even look. I’ll call on Monday and ask them for a new as well.
