Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

This instruction says reconnect? It didn’t say disconnect anywhere after identification. I literally need every single step spelled out.

 

Define “normal”. Also, asking for a friend.

 

What does “check your ECU version” mean? Do I just look at something and yeah that’s it or physically select something? And do I have to do this for both the ECU you and TCU? I just want this right and sorry for being a pain in the ass.

After identification is there anything that needs done? Check the flash manager if the ECUs supported?

 

You know that you can get arrested for flashing in a parking lot... especially a hotel parking lot.

 

Is there something like this suppose to show up somewhere?

 

a question before I do my first tune flash....I have a AT. Can you flash both the tune and transmission flash at the same time or have to flash each separate? I assume separate flashes?

Yes, separate flashes. I did the ECU first, then the TCU. The trans one doesn' t long at all. Remember to let the truck idle for 15-20 minutes after flashing to help it set the idle

The 3 ... box does not do anything. It’s grayed out like the rest. Also, noticed that it’s the Gear box on my drop down. Shouldn’t it be the main ECU can-bus?

 

On the instructions page (attached) the read button is highlighted when doing the identification. Is this where you read the info?

No. You don’t even need to read it since the stock files are already available from flash manager. You’re just identifying what ECU version your truck has so that you get the correct tuning files from flash manager. Once you confirm you got the correct version of the tuning file, just write.

 

Did you put the license code in pcmflash and activate it?

 

How would I know if I did or not? Time has passed since I started this.
