I'm on the fence about snorkels too, I want to order one but I have a tenancy to buy tinker sell things and I don't want it to affect the group of buyer I attract. Right now I feel like anyone looking would like my truck but with a snorkel I think it would put off a lot of potential buyers.

Mind you I have no intention of selling my truck at the moment, just going off of my history.

Same here I would benefit from a snorkel cause of dust. But the fact I want to supercharge my v6 is making me wait on the snorkel. The one I really want is for the Hilux as well.

Finished wiring up my hyperspots after getting my RTMR all figured out. Things are unreal bright, haven’t been able to test them out at any distance yet though.

Has anyone taken precautions to prevent their front fog lights from being stolen? I have some nice KC LED lights on my grille guard and stealing it would be as easy as unbolting the two nuts on the bottom. I was thinking maybe like a wheel lock type of nut.

I have these screws holding my license plates in, they’re security type spanner heads.

Didn't work on my Tacoma but we did replace the wheel bearing on my buddy's Tundra prerunner. Thought I'd post it here since it's pretty much the same deal for any 6 lug Tacoma/tundra/4runner

You got a welder right? Tack it on then paint the little tack. Easy

If you can/want you could just weld them on. But I used some red loctite for my bumper lights. Caught one guy tried to take them off once. Broke his walmart wrench set. I found it hilarious

I’d like to remove them at some point, which is why I’m looking for reusable hardware. Grille guard won’t be on there once I get my Predator bumper on, and one day maybe I’ll go back to stock so I won’t need the lights anymore.

Then you might as well use regular hardware, if someone wants something bad enough to steal it a rounded bolt or pentagonal nut isnt going to stop them. Tack welding is much easier anyway just two tacks, you can grind them off the bolt or nut anytime but it stops the immediate threat of turning them.

6 months ago I took off this skid to fit the front differential in. I haven’t had the motivation to put it back yet. For now it sits in front of my garage... rusting away... mocking me.

    B06D9193-3120-46F8-B40D-50B67FAF8FCC.jpg

After all that time I finally put the front differential breather on. I used 3/8ths fuel line and a Dorman axle breather. The barb is in such a hard to reach location I couldn’t tighten down the hose clamp. Let’s just hope to god friction keeps it on for now.

Thats a shame that you need so much security, guess I kinda take that for granted, I don't even lock my doors when I go out places sometimes.. Do people really steal license plates that often around there??

I haven’t had experienced theft so far but I’ve seen it happen often enough so I’m taking precautions. I’m just playing it safe.

One of my neighbors had the registration stickers stolen off his license plate.

Did he start laminating his license plate haha. I try to make things tough to just take but gotta draw the line somewhere too because really anything can be bypassed and taken and spending $25 on special locking hardware to hold $75 light pods on seems kinda stupid.

He ended up scoring the stickers so when you try to remove it, it damages the sticker.

I live by a national car dealer lot, and I see all these cars parked on this quiet side street awaiting loading onto a hauler overnight. I see a couple of them a month on cinder blocks from people stealing the wheels and tires. It’s crazy.

I wish those were $75 pods, they’re $300 KC LED lights which is why I’m iffy on keeping them unsecured.

Honestly the best solution is probably just some red loctite then, makes things very hard to remove but doable with a torch. In most cases adjustable wrenches will break before loosening red loctite unless the bolt is small.
