What's the best year for the second gen

    I want to upgrade from my 04 first gen later this year and no don't tell me to keep it. I need something with an automatic, 4WD and a V6. I'm still considering a 3rd gen, but if I can save some money I will. My local Toyota dealer always has a few 2014-2015 second gen double cabs that meet the requirements

    12-15 are the best looking, but that's when they implemented that emissions pump thing, so I think '12 and maybe '13 have issues with that. I previously owned a '15 and really loved it, so that's what I'd say is the best year.

    12+ due to interior and exterior. No pink tail lights!

    14-15 is best because the back up camera is in the headunit rather than the mirror.

    05-11 is best due to no air pumps. (stupid emissions slapped on)

    2013 is usually the common denominator best year. Google it, the thread has been discussed.

    I remember reading 2010 was the year with the least amount of problems. It's not like there are many problems on the 2nd gen anyway, so I don't think I'd get hung up on a particular year and get the best maintained one you can find.

    I have a 08 love it but like the looks of the later 2nd gen go with the one your dealer has. Do a title search on it n go to toyota website and do a vin search.
