    A standard wood 6x6 cut into a 12'' section I would assume

I never seen 6" X 6" down at Ace. That would be perfect!

Actually that's exactly what it looked like. I saw these ditched somewhere and grabbed them. Super useful.

I agree, but its made in the US and costs almost 5x more than the less expensive alternative I first posted. The HF one works well, and is worth the difference.

Personally I would get the harbor freight jack. You obviously shouldn't use the jack to support the truck while you are working on it so use stands and you will be good. I have seen a jack fail, luckily nobody was under the vehicle when it happened.

I had a 3 ton floor jack and the Harbor Freight 12 ton jack stands for 15 years when I had my Dodge Cummins 4x4. Truck weighed right at 8,000 with the toolbox in the bed, full of tools and various items. Used the jack and stands regularly, never had any issues. I don't recall the brand of the jack, my dad got it for me. It wasn't any well known brand, might have been Harbor Freight... I sold the jack and stands along with the Dodge truck a few years ago.

I hear Ya on that Tacoguy88! I sure don't want anyone getting hurt. I like to have fun and laugh at silly stuff but I understand what you are saying. I was taught at a young age and I have to be reminded sometimes that not everyone is so lucky. Sometimes we take for granted our blessings...
