Happy hour is busy today. Only one chair open when I got here. Watching a documentary on Death Valley in preparation for my trip down there later this month.

Will do. Just passing through on the way to San Diego. Plan is to camp around Beatty, head in via Titus Canyon, find a good disbursed camping spot in the central or southern portion of DV, then head out the next day via Harry Wade.

After my appt in San Diego I'm dropping the wife at the airport to fly home and then I'll either spend a few days back in DV exploring the west side of the park or head to Mohave.

I was just popping some kettle corn and Wife walks into the kitchen, tells me I'm going to get cancer from standing in front of the microwave, and walks out.

    Well played.

Drive wasn't bad. Weather sucked but there was minimal traffic. Took about 4 hours to get to Bishop.

Hit up some hot springs just outside of Bishop Saturday morning then off to Death Valley. Had a choice camp spot on the west side overlooking Badwater Saturday night.

Sunday we camped off Harry Wade in the south end of the park. Put the Fox coilovers through the paces on the long straight desert roads...I may have seen 70mph.

Looks like another surgery and hot chemo treatment in my future. Prognosis is good and the doctor was surprised it took as long as it did before the recurrence based on how advanced the cancer was when I first saw him.

    A. Sorry about the surgery. It's never fun. Hope you don't wake up with a boob job.
    B. Fingers crossed on the prognosis. More (and better) forces than us and your truck want to see you sticking around for a while.
    C. Continued prayers and best wishes for a speedy and successful recovery.

Shake and Bake scheduled for 7/13 (Friday the 13th ).

Now the tough part of putting on some weight before the procedure. Going to need to dial in our budget and get more aggressive stashing money away the next few months since I don't have enough paid time off to cover the period I'll be out of work. Once again truck projects are on hold (except for the pile of parts in the garage to be installed still).

Here's a quick video of HIPEC (aka Shake and Bake)...my last surgery with HIPEC was 11 hours but this one should be about half as long hopefully.

I seem to find myself here picking up lumber for fencing way more than I'd like. This makes it pretty clear that I should buy an iKamper since it's sitting nice with the extra weight (8 bags of concrete in the bed too).

Don't know why I didn't do this sooner...the LED reverse lights are way brighter than the old halogens.
