Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. The mirrors are a 1-race wonder. Thank goodness. That is one slippery -- and ugly -- slope.

 

Yeah that was disturbingly close.

 

Horner said he understands they will be gone during the broadcast. I'm pretty sure it's a done deal. Official thing.

 

They will not be there at Monaco. The problem is the aero feature added above the mirror.

That's the way I understand it. The issue on the Ferrari was the aero bits on top. Nothing to stop them from keeping mirrors there but probably no benefit without the additional wings.

Exciting opening lap but after that it was mostly a snoozefest.

 

Boooorrrriiiinngggg except for Grosjean. I can't figure out whether he is an idiot or unlucky. Leaning towards the former.

Post race interview sounded as though Ferrari had to bring Vettel in for the 2nd stop but it seems odd that their tire degradation was so much worse than the others at the front.

Besides the fact that Grosjean took out half the DNF's there was quite an attrition rate still. Other than that, it was quite boring with not a lot of action.

With the cars current width and aero Monaco will be even more of a parade. I probably won't watch anything but qualifying and the replay of Max crashing someone out of the race.

 

I suppose after the excitement we’ve been treated to thus far we were due a snooze fest sooner or later. I usually can’t fall asleep with the TV on but I struggled to stay awake for this race.

Luckily Monaco is always a fun one to watch. Honestly the Spanish GP usually seems boring to me, not sure why.

Because it was hard to pass there even before the current aero rules.

 

It can be a good race if it rains. Ham running fast laps on full wets on a dry track a couple of years ago made for a good race. Ricciardo's unfortunate pit stop made for a spectacle, but it was still a good race.

 

unless we get Adrian Sutil back for a one-off... then maybe some action at the hairpin. I'll still be holding out for VER to crash out again. this could be his year to earn nicknames other than Fish Lips... which isn't bad actually.

Historically there was plenty of passing. Maybe the last 15 or 20 years ( ?? ) have been snoozefests. I seem to remember plenty of action in the 70s at least. Some time in the 80s I took a decades long hiatus from F1.
