I talked with a 3 year participant in Moab Offroad's "Week o' Wheeling" yesterday. These guys are extreme! 7 days at 7 off road spots, along with several sight seeing locations, all linked by hundreds of miles of road travel. Got me to thinking....

Thoughts on doing something similar? Most of the vehicles in WOW are street legal trail rigs, where the typical Tacoma's are more trail capable street rigs....So...tone it down ever so slightly, but still a test. Limit it to a handful of trucks, all meeting certain criteria (Tire size/winch/recovery gear/tools/ ect) Pre-enter...pre pay for food...stay at motel 1 or 2 nights (for showers, clean up gear)

Even if you aren't interested in going, post thoughts on how many people, degree of preparedness, limit of over-all cost, ect... I'm thinking 5 to 7 trucks max on a first attempt. Maybe up-size if a 2nd year happens. Start small.

Looking at trails/spots limited to Indiana, Kentucky, and possibly Tennessee. I think our collective knowledge of suitable locations in those states would give us plenty of options.

    What so say ye?

I'm thinking that something this big will take long distance planning....Maybe late fall or winter, or next spring. Won't happen on short notice.

    I'm in. I think.

There was the idea of the KAT, or at least part of it, being tossed around. Same type of thing.

I have 3 or 4 tourist spots I'd like to make stops along the way... for the well rounded tourist in us all....

At some point, I'll toss out an itenerary for 5 to 7 days.... Thought is a heavy duty version of "overlanding"....Still brainstorming this...
And looking for somewhat of a sponsor to underwrite some of the cost.
