Do the rear windows on the AC in SR5, TRDOR or TRDS open? The ones in my SR are fixed and I was wanting to tint my windows but it looks like it would be tough to do since you have to tint from the inside and it looks like I'll have to take the window out to do it.

I wish that they would open just a bit. But, no. They are fixed closed on the 3rd Gens. Probably one of my biggest complaints / wishes.

The interior trim panel pops off pretty easy. That would give a lot more / total coverage for tinting.

As always, here's a great eye candy video about it:

The rear windows in my AC Sport are fixed. Pretty sure they've been fixed since the second gen was introduced, but I could be wrong on that.

They’re fixed, no opening. Wish they did though!

Yup, fixed windows in the 2nd gen, too. The 1st gen and older XtraCabs had rear windows that tipped out.

But you know, honestly, in the almost 2 decades I owned my 1991 I may have opened them half a dozen times to get the dog some air. So they weren't really all that necessary. Having a sliding rear window is more important.

OTOH there was even less room for people in the back of those cabs so I've actually had people ride in the back of my Tacoma so it might be nice to have.

All 2nd gen + are fixed on the AC doors.

A good tint guy can easily do those windows w/o removing the panel. They are usually found at shops that only tint (not a tint/tire/tunes shop) and a shop that sells high end lifetime products.

Go by the shop a few times at the end of their workday and look at some of their results on complex jobs. If you don't like what you are seeing, find another shop.
