    Afternoon ladies and gents,

Been considering lowering my '13 6spd, and was wondering what yalls thoughts were on this..

also curious if those who have lowered their truck encountered any problems with it. Just looking to run the stock trd sport wheels on 265/65/17s at the moment and don't want to go too extreme, just looking to build a semi-street truck.

    https://sosperformance.com/products...sh-3-dot-5-rear-lowering-kit-fits-2015-tacoma

If you know of a better kit, or have other recommendations/info, I would greatly appreciate it. I know quite a bit about lifting these trucks, but I am a novice when it comes to dropping them..

@Torspd maybe you have some insight? I know you have yours lowered down quite a bit..

Just recommend putting the shorter bump stops for front. SOS sells it . Other than that its a good kit .

Think those are the ones . Call Tom at sos . He will know for sure . Yea with stock bumpstops had maybe 1/4 to 1/2 in clearance . Would feel it hitting bumpstops hard .With short ones no problem

My 07 has the kit, no real problems.
The full size bilstein shocks required some Tundra parts.
    I put on 13 wheels w/265/60/18 tires.

    I am very happy.
It is a mile eating machine!

Thanks for the reply! When you say full size bilsteins do you mean the 5100s? And what tundra parts were required?

I called tom at sos a few days back and he said that the website specified 16-18 tacomas for the front bump stops, just because they require them where as the 05-15s dont require them, but they will offer more travel if you replace the bumps with theirs. He did mention that they will fit both gen trucks

Xrunner Qa1 for rear is what Im running and I like it . For front need to research . Torspd got a set he put together . Another member use llV performance coilover set but had to have someone machine a adapter. I havent even looked into any other options . Im satisfied as it is now .
But if I wanted to race at a track maybe but on Oahu we dont even have a drag strip anymore :frusty:

Do those use the stock mounting point since theyre shorter or the relocate that is part of the SOS kit?

Thanks for the info, ill look into something for the front. I have a set of 4600s i just got for free so ill wear those out before i decide to upgrade

Thats surprising yall dont have a drag strip.. how long ago did they ditch that?

@rjbiii Do the 4600 bilsteins for the tr lowering kit fit correctly. I thought they are too big. I know the Toyota stickered bilsteins fit.

I wish we had a go to lowering kit for us 6 lugs. I like the look of tr lowering kit. But I don’t like how the power coat falls off very prematurely.

@hemitruk Did you only replace the shocks with qa1s in the rear for the tr lower kit? Or did you flip the leafs too?

Are they the adjustable qa1s? Curious how much better they are in the rear vs the Toyota bilsteins

Yea Qa1 adjustable . To me it's way better tha the stock sport bilsteins Can adjust firmness . I think IIRC 18 settings.
