This is what I got from the Payson fire dept emailed to me.

 

They didn't have a clue about the restrictions. They also didn't know you had to self pay and thought it was a free CG because "there was nobody there to take their money". Once I told them about possible $5k in fines they doused the ring and left in a hurry.

Negative, depending on the county and area for stage 2 restriction LPG is allowed. That restriction you're referring to was from the Overland Expo and their requirements. Most of the USFS/BLM controlled land currently in a stage 2 will allow the use of LPG "on/off" devices in a barren and open area with no overhead debris or branches.

 

No, just don't listen to the OE nazis that are going overboard with the enhanced stage 2 controls for liability, aka dollar sign, worries.
