Awesome, thanks. Gonna have to give it a shot one of these next few days. Part of me it tempted to say frick it and put the CB up in there instead of having a digital read out

I just bought a new one.Not expensive. I used to just leave it run and at 12 years or so it quit. Now I turn it off unless I need it. Should last the remainder of the trucks life.

I just googled, mine came from a seller on ebay. It was OEM, new in box, works perfect. Did not seem to be rare at all.

Just bought an '06 TRD Sport DblCab 4x4, 196k miles. Had this problem. Came here for the answer, and you guys were right! Resistor was sticking right up off the board.
One quick solder pass to the end and my display is back in business! Thanks!

I miss the one I had on my 05. Worked like a charm for 10 years. My 2015 didn't have it and I didn't notice until it was too late.

Me too! Although I fixed mine about a year ago and it went out a couple months ago. eBay has several vendors you can mail your board for about $15 and they'll solder it for you. I may do this as I suck at soldering, evidently.

Does this fix solve this? Or do I need to replace a sensor. 3305E075-B02B-416B-B95B-0641F37EC880.jpg

If this fix is needed the display would be out completely. I would check the connections to the sensor and or maybe the sensor is the problem.

Well Tacoma World... what is going on now with my repair? I have a read out now, but barely..... it has been like 5 - 7 years since this worked last, so at least i can see how hot it is outside... but does anyone know why my readout is so dim?

This site is awesome. Thank you, thank you. This repair worked like a charm for me too. If it goes out again, I will send it top the repair guy on Ebay.

If those resistors are green-brown-brown, it's the wrong resistors. Should be 51 ohm resistors. Not 510 ohm resistors.
