Hey man, how are you liking the OME setup? Is it pretty stiff? I'm stuck between 5100s or OME. Does it ride well on the street with all of the weight you carry?

I'm happy with the setup. It does ride stiff but I chose it for that reason. From what I've been told the 5100's are between the OME 90021(soft) and the 90000(firm) in stiffness. I like the stiffer suspension so going with the stiff shocks and heavy springs keeps me from bounce around so much on trails. I always have the RTT and bed rack on the truck, when I'm loaded up for a trip the dakars smooth out a bit more which is nice. I was able to ride in a truck with a similar setup before I purchased mine which helped me figure out how rough of a ride my setup was going to have. I'll eventually go to a better shock but until then I'm happy with what I have.

Thanks for the info! I'm expecting to firm up the suspension, I just want to make sure the thing doesn't feel like a sports car when hitting a pot hole basically, and I'm sure that it won't. With the dakars, they activate right away with the added load in the truck? Part of me was thinking about getting the progressive AAL pack, but now I'm thinking that with the weight I carry, it's important to have the leaf pack activated right away, rather than progressively getting stiffer as I add more weight.

When I first lifted the truck I drove for a month or 2 with no weight in the back and it was fairly rough but not enough to bother me. After adding 180lbs with the RTT and bed rack it smoothed it out some but is still a little rough. I think the ideal weight is more like 300+lbs in/over the bed for smoother ride. I'd guess I'm around 300-350lbs when i'm fully loaded for a trip. Pot holes you feel and they can be a little jarring but I dont bounce around after the hitting them. The truck maintains its stance so when you hit a hole it drops the tire(s) into it fast and you can definitely feel it. Not as jarring as a lowered car with no sidewalls but it is more jarring than the stock setup. Theres a few intersections I drive through regularly that have a very sudden rise and fall in the center. When I was stock I would bounce all over when I came over the top, with the current setup the truck doesnt bounce at all really and takes them very smooth doing about 50mph. If I took them much faster I may even jump the truck a little but that just keeps me driving at reasonable speeds since I am not currently building it to jump.

I've also debated going to a softer front spring like the 888's instead of my current 886's but I'm lazy and cheap. I now have plans to eventually replace my slimline bumper with a full front bumper which will add another ~75 lbs to the front and will probably help soften the 886's a little more and make the ride even less jarring.

Jambo 2018, 5/3-5/6, It was a great time with some great friends and fellow enthusiasts. I didnt get any picks from the trails but I did get some memories that will be around for a while.:annoyed: I guess its time to post up my trucks recent trail damage.:anonymous: Some pics have been taken from @ETXTacoma, thanks for getting more pics than I did.

Creepin on some friends at the hotel they stayed at in Gilmer and it provided an easy meet up location so we could arrive before the gates opened for Jambo. We've got @MellyMel's 4R pocking out behind @trekker's Taco pullin teh trailer and @ETXTacoma who also drove over to meet up that morning.

Sitting at the gate waiting to be let in so we can set up camp for the weekend!

We staked our claim to a pretty good size area so we had room for when other friends arrived.

Made a few bad decisions but you live, you learn and I can still say I had a good time.
Heres before attempting to fix the damage.

Heres post repair to make the front look better and get the tailgate working since the RTT blocks putting anything large in or pulling anything out of the bed. This was needed since I had a few things that I would need to pack up when it was time to head home. Some brute force by @fajitas21 and @Overkill07 the front bumper popped back out.
    20180504_103431.jpg
With a 2 or 3lb sledge, a punch and a block of wood @trekker @hoarder23 and I got the Tailgate opening and closing again!

    20180504_103524.jpg

And thats all I've got from Jambo 2018. I really need to find someone to just ride along and take more pics. I get to into driving to remember to get pics.

I should open a body shop. These guns totally almost repaired your front bumper :) Free bodywork on the trail! I should start a business.

Well I made an somewhat unexpected purchase today. I've thought about getting a Bedslide for a while but the cost was more than I was willing to spend with other upgrades I've wanted. Found a deal I couldn't turn down and now I have to decide how I want to install it.

:rofl:I know where its getting installed and its not your truck. :D My luck you were out of town and took a little to long to ask for someone to get it for you. Had you seen it and asked ~2 hours earlier I might have been picking it up for you instead of myself. If I didnt get it today I probably would have missed out on getting it myself. Guy said he had a ton of people wanting to get it this weekend but he only offered mon-fri 10-5 to pick it up. Theres 2 different options for mounting it in the bed, both require 4 holes. Either all 4 in the bed and having to deal with the gas tank or 2 in the bed/2 in the bed wall below the back window. I leaning towards the 4 in the bed and deal with the tank being in the way.

:fingerscrossed: It better be. I couldn't handle another 4 months waiting on a bumper and i need to hide my busted up tail gate.

The invoice they sent me has all the right info. I've checked it multiple times already so we should be good this time. As a company I feel they have gone above what they needed to do in getting the ordering error corrected.

*Edit: just checked the invoice again. Still looks to be accurate.
