Did I mention a Dutch Oven to go with the charcoal? Fresh baked bread, rolls, biscuits and I make a pineapple upside down cake that's to die for.

Very soon....won't be long now and Lowes & Home Depot will doing the sales. I'm gonna hit 'em up every chance I can until I can replenish my supply.

A kamado style grill is really powerfully useful grill. You can sear steaks at crazy high temps, make brick oven pizzas, do cakes or pies like an oven.....and slow smoke brisket for 20+ hour smokes.....any and everything in between. They are very easy to run and very economical: lump charcoal is snuffed out after each cook and reusable for next cooks.......lifetime warranties on the nice kamados make it a no brainer. Kamado Joe, Big Green Egg or Primo are the ones I recommend looking into. They are game changers for anyone I know who's tried them. Fun to use.....but super easy. They maintain temps very well and offer great results year after year.

That being said.....the basic Weber kettles are very kamado-like in that you simply have to learn to master the vent settings and flare ups are a thing of the past.

I've done great ribs and such in the Weber's, too.

They are inexpensive and lightweight. No reason not to have a couple.

They travel great in truck beds.

    Thanks!

I've heard a lot of good things about the egg grills. A couple folks that I know have them. But, that is a lot of commitment. I want to toe the waters first. I haven't played with charcoal grills in 25yrs and never tried a smoker.

Only works if you can see the screen. I would rather have sensors. The beeping is like a 6th sense.

A 22" Weber kettle is a great place to start.

You can smoke, grill, sear and etc on them with ease.

    Highly portable, too.

Truth be told.....it'll do pretty much anything that I need it to do....same as my kamados....just takes a bit more attention from me.

I did something similar a couple years back with my Frontier. I needed some crush'n'run rock for a yard project and went by a local spot that dumped a load in my bed. Took me several days to get that stuff where I needed it.

Took even longer to get all the little rocks out of the bed channels of that truck.

Never again without some type of liner.....or a utility trailer........or have the deliver it to me, lol.

Sweet BGE you have there !!!!!!

My brother has a 7x12 dump trailer. Worth it's weight in gold. In addition to being helpful unloading gravel and such, you can pull up at the dump station and unload a thousand pounds of trash and be on your on your way faster than the Civic hatchback with 6 bags of garbage, even though they arrived before you, lol.

To get it placed correctly in the bezel took some fabricating. I used the standard mount that Baja Designs includes, not their vehicle specific mount, and bolted that up to a Rigid fog light bracket which completely replaced the OEM plastic hanger.

It's fairly easy, just be prepared to drill stainless steel, trim the bezel a bit, and have some patience. The whole thing only took me about 4 hours, from fit up, to cutting, to mounting and aligning the lights.

New grill today. It's not the real oem grill. But I will tell you if you want a cheaper option then the dealer these are well made and for what they are and totally worth it over the oem one. I'm pretty picky well very picky with my truck and I have this,I don't regret it.
