This thread fizzled out like a cheap firecracker in muggy conditions. Any updates?

 

I’ve had a similar experience with my local agent. Our rate for my wife and i’s vehicles with good coverage is less than 90 a month.

 

Nada cops haven’t found em yet neither has the insurance co. Think I’m screwed.

Was there any construction site where you were hit or in th vicinity. Use Google earth, and g oogle maps street view to search the area if you can't drive back out there. Try to figure out where he was coming or going.

 

Really dont understand how this is possible. How can you have plates and not be able to figure it out? Wouldnt be shocked if you got a lawyer they wouldnt magically be able to find a match.

 

I feel the same way. Definitely feels like they aren’t that interested.

 

Insurance have told me these things take time and they’ll do their best to locate the driver.

Gentlemen its a TRAILER tag, not a vehicle tag, plus it's out of state. States requirements for trailer tags very greatly and I don't claim to be an expert, but it's very possible it's an old tag, maybe the original, and the trailer has not been registered in NC for quite some time so it's not going to turn up anything. Could have changed hands a few times. Why keep the tag on it then? Well, in Kansas you are not legally required to tag certain trailers but you DO if you want to take those trailes to another state and don't want to be hassled.

Sure, it's easy to run a check on a tag, but if that tag is not in the database things get a little more complex.

 

Just wondering when you were hit were you completely stopped?

 

Fix the mirror yourself,and put on a new bed side, and then have a pro paint too match,with your $2000 deductable its still way cheaper than having your ins. fix it and paying the $2000.

Insurance have told me I’m getting $1000 for diminished value and the dealership are giving me $500 off so I’m only out of pocket $500.

 

He was a properly marked oversized load on a 2 lane highway. I could see him making the argument that you ran into him, IF you can ever find him, so be ready.

He also failed to stop at the scene of an accident not sure how strong his word would be.
