I was up till 0330.

 

I’m at Monday right now. At 9 pm tonight I’ll be on Friday till 0900 then weekend. I took Sunday off so I don’t go back till next wed.

Morning guys! I think the airspace over our house was violated by the Russians yesterday . This sucker was low due to thunderstorm activity on approach to Atlanta. Had the camera in my hand so a took a few shots. After zooming in on the wing at the computer I see 82047. It's a Volga Dnepr Antonov An-124-100. Pretty positive this is the exact plane I saw. My pictures first, followed by google image of the plane with that identification number. @rmepilot were you on that plane? Haha! Didn't you fly on one of these a few months back?

Anyway, that's some useless information for this Thursday morning. If only @stronghammer where here to nitpick

 

I'm glad it's not the normal approach pattern but it is pretty cool every once and while. That got me already wanting a better lens for my camera haha!

 

I’ve been on two of those. One in February and one last May. It’s a big ass plane, but effective cargo hauler.

 

I’ve got pics of that one landing in Kandahar. I had to clear the taxi way, because it’s wingspan was so big.

Did it have a different sound to it? I heard something fly low over the house last night also. Maybe around 10 or so EST. Sounded different than the normal one's that fly over low as hell usually.

 

It was a deep low sound like she was throttling down. It was like she was moving in slow motion. I took this at 6:09 Central. Planes continued to fly over on into the night though. Not sure why this guy was so low though. All the other planes were at a normal height for when they fly over. If it wasn't raining last night then it would have made for some cool long exposure photos. They were stacked up one right after the other.

 

I've counted as many as 10 flying over some nights. They may be around 1500-2000 feet. Rattle's the house when each one flies over. These are all military aircraft though.

The one's I'm talking about are C-130's.

Tagging @stronghammer would just make him feel the love of the Alabama thread. You sure we want to show @stronghammer that kinda love. I mean @stronghammer may get a big head over some shit like that.
