    Don't feel bad about it. I remember when I bought my '88 Bronco that had locking front hubs added by the previous owner. Nothing in the owners manual, and I didn't think to ask about them. Took a while to figure out I had to reverse to disengage them.

    I do it all the time we ride on forest service roads and sometimes pavement between trials. So I switch in and out of 4wd between them. It’s not always 60 mph but 40 to 45 is normal. As long as all 4 wheels are going the same speed it’s fine.

    I just would never think to switch back and forth at any speed, even if the tech is there for it.
