So the Gen 3 has been out almost 3 years now. I'm extremely happy with the truck. I need just a little more horsepower for highway driving in the mountains and busting it out in the sand dunes in Moab. How do I achieve this with say a budget of $500-1250? I see a lot of different mods out now. Who's done them and can measure this gains? Go..

There is the orange virus tune for 800
And there is a super charger in the world from Magnusson. As of now I don't think there is anything out there for those kinds of gains. Start removing weight from the truck yo make it lighter is all I can think of.

Is that getting 30 to 40 hp more by itself though?

Easy. Shave weight. Seats, carpet, lighter tires and wheels, etc. You will be amazed.
Unfortunately, this is the only way right now to gain performance level you want. Sure, it won't actually increase HP, but what it will do is change the HP to weight ratio, which will seriously increase performance.

I’d like to see what im getting with the URD exhaust and a custom tune done by him. I’d say at least 30.

Wait for the supercharger:). It will only be 3X your budget, but it’s the only thing short of a complete motor mod that’s going to boost you those type HP’s.
The OVtune isn’t going to do much of anything for HP.

I'm definitely getting more aggressive with the engine and making use of the torque in the higher ranges, but driving around at 4000-4500 rpm in 3rd on the highway hills/passes allows me to go 75mph for an extended time just seems like I'm pushing the engine too hard. And in the sand, it's struggling quite a bit when getting into the throttle, quite a bit of lag. I know 30-40 HP is all it needs to hold speeds in 4th and make more power off the bottom a lot more fun.

Just don't want to experiment, was hoping to hear some success stories out there. I am not a supercharger fan either.

The one thing I did like about driving my friends F150 Ecoboost was the turbo. It was just enough extra power when you wanted it. So if I could choose a mod, it would be a turbocharger.

Doubt it. That's over 10%. Easy way to check tho, go run some 0-60 times, like 10 or so. Then compare to stock vehicle. If you gained 40 hp it will definitely be faster.

I saw @spicytacos mention in another thread the following information: "Magnuson has said 2019 for a supercharger kit. @OVTune is working on a twin turbo." True?

So the tune adds ~24 hp on a stock truck. The exhaust removes 2 cats, high flow muffler and bigger pipes. Then he’s going to customize the tune to maximize power.

If you think a tune + the exhaust won’t get at lease 30hp over stock, youre the one on crack @mutely

Last Tune numbers I saw were about 3~5hp in the mid range and nothing up top. Can you link to the dyno showing 24?
