Best new old truck ever!

    1997 2.4L Regular Cad 2WD Standard Tacoma
    Bone stock
    Hello everybody. I purchased my Tacoma in April 2017. It is a dark red, 1997, 2.4L, regular cab, 2WD with a standard transmission. It has 256,750 miles, two owners, and bone stock(still has original cassette deck). I drove it away for $500 cash!! The a/c does not work. Also it has been "rode hard and put up wet" but all parts are totally original and no rust on the undercarriage. The first and only upgrade I have installed is a K and N air filter.
    This is the best bang for your buck truck out there. A great project truck. They just last

    Why can I never find these kind of deals? I only find 300k mile trucks with 5 different colors of body panels in the bed, a seat that's got about 3 inches of fabric left, a window that is off track, and only $5k

    Awesome!

    I'll suggest you spend time here reading and asking questions before letting go of your hard earned money. For example, you'll find that a plain old Wix, Purolator or Toyota air filter would be much more recommended, at much less cost.

    Personally, I'd start by a full brake inspection, clean, lube, replace as needed, including a full fluid flush.

    Then make sure all other safety items like wipers, lights, seat belts, etc are in proper working order, tires are in good shape.

    Then start base lining your maintenance with all fluids.

    Those won't be 'cheap', but it will insure some health for the truck and you.

    Then move on to the spit shine stuff.

    Sounds like a fun project. Enjoy!
