Stockers at 37 cold. Heat up to around 40psi. Except when lighting them up, they get up to around 42. Trying to keep them off the 44psi max.

People also have to realize that by going to larger tires the calculated fuel economy is also no longer correct. Going from a 265/65/17 to a 285/70/17 for example will throw off you distance travelled by about 7%, and therefore also the calculated fuel milage by the same amount. Thats going from a displayed 20gpm to 18.4gpm when your fuel milage hasnt actually changed.

I'm about 35psi cold, running 265/70/17 w/ stock suspension, and I consistently get 19.0-19.5 MPG per tank mixed driving. All highway (in Maryland), I'm around 23-24. Hard to beat that MPG for what we get in our trucks.

The 44psi is max cold pressure. They are designed to heat up above that. You are plenty in the green with 37psi cold.

I averaged 18-19mpg in central Florida with 265/70/R17 load range C KO2s kept at 38-40psi. I have a steel hybrid front bumper, synthetic winch, steel front skid, steel sliders, hard topper, and bed drawers filled with camping gear.

I recently moved to southern California and have been getting 13-15mpg with no change to the truck on my first three fill-ups here... same amount of highway driving just more stop and go with traffic now.

Would the stop and go traffic really make it go from 18-19 to 13-15? Is the gas here a culprit? I never would have thought that until I read this thread. I was going to do a 2-3in lift and was even considering 285s but now I’m super nervous now with how much my mpg dropped especially with gas being so much more expensive here. I’ve been really confused and what could have caused such a big drop.

Thanks. Yeah, I figured I’d take a hit but was surprised of how big of a drop. Damn SoCal traffic...

Motor always works harder coming up to speed instead of maintaining speed.

Imagine riding a bike for a mile, one time you just cruise it for the duration, one you stop and go up to speed every 50 yards, which do you think would take more energy?

Yup, understand the logic. You’re 100% right. I was hoping there was something I’m missing but I think I’m just stuck with it. Hey at least I’m going much shorter with the crappier gas mileage so I guess it all works out :notsure::frusty:

I wonder what the conversations are like over on Prius World? Probably something along the lines of “I was getting 57mpg, then I hung fuzzy-dice from my mirror, and now I’m getting 56mpg.....this is bullshit.”

Out of all the vehicle forums, Tacomaworld looks the best and is the easiest to navigate. All the others look like they're that scammy search results page on the internet.
