    Looking for a little bit of help with anyone who received the rear leaf spring recall on their 2nd gen tacoma.

    Wondering if you could send me the part numbers that are printed on the top of your driver and passenger side leaf packs so I can confirm with mine.

    I received the recall springs last summer and my drivers side springs are sagging A LOT. There is a 2" difference in height between the driver and passenger side pack, so im trying to figure out if I was given the right packs and if they were installed on the right sides.

    My passenger side leaf pack has WHITE text and is part #48210-04660

    My driver side leaf pack has YELLOW text and is part #48220-04300

    I never got the replacements since i already did the 3 leaf add a leaf. What you’re experiencing is consistent with what a lot of other guys are experiencing. I didn’t change mine for that exact reason. For me, why replace crappy leafs with crappy leafs. If mine ever fail with the added support of the aal then I’ll get something better. I know you were just asking for the numbers sorry I don’t have that.

    Ive heard of sag, but never 2". You can see it very obviously from the back. Other guys report 0.75-1" difference

    From what I’ve heard it’s all over the place especially if you have offspec +/- leafs along with the lean. Point being, Toyota hasn’t done us any favors with these leafs. I don’t know what the colors mean and what the difference in pn is all about.

    Thats very unfortunate. My bed is completely empty, all I have is a 150lb steel rear bumper, and im getting 2" of drivers side sag on virtually brand new leaf springs.

    If you get a new set under recall, make sure to fluid film them. I got mine replaced under TSB in 2014 - they look like shit and are all rusted now in only 4 years. Toyota still makes the most reliable vehicles that will last, but some of their decisions are pretty terrible when it comes to materials and finishes.

    After putting this off for a year or so, I decided to go and get my leaf springs changed out under the recall. I drove 40+ miles to a dealer and service department that I had a little more faith in. Much more faith than the one that is only about 5 miles from my house. While there, they also looked at the frame and U-joints. Both checked out just fine. The original leaf springs were a three pack and the new ones are a 4 pack. I did notice that the new bump stop is different than the old one. I've reinstalled my Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS) back on and it all looks pretty kosher. I do plan on spraying the new leaf springs down with some LPS 3 or something equivalent.

    I took some measurments before and after that I'll list those below, along with a couple of pictures of the bump stops. Measurments were taken from the top of the rear wheel to the bottom of the fender flare on the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle.

    OLD leaf spring with the RAS still on;
    D.S. 7 1/4" ---- P.S. 7 1/2" RAS was set at the 25% setting for handling and load carrying (set in 2012)

    OLD leaf spring with RAS removed;
    D.S. 6 3/4" ---- P.S. 7"

    NEW leaf springs prior to RAS reinstall;
    D.S. 6 3/4" ---- P.S. 7"

    NEW leaf springs with RAS reinstalled;
    D.S. 7 5/8" ----- P.S. 7 5/8" RAS now adjusted to the 40% setting for handling and load carrying

    I got the recall springs during the frame swap in march and not even two months and the new springs squeak and creak like they are antique leaf springs. I still love my truck it just sounds like a pile thanks to these awesome springs.

    Im supposed to go this week for the recall the dealership called and said the parts were in . But I don’t think im going to let them change it. I just leveled the front with 5100 and I don’t want it to have the rake again. So I bought some 2-1/2 inch ubolts and im going to add them were the spring can possibly swing into the gas tank. And my frame is also recalled for the spray and im not letting them do that either

    Here are my replacement spring #s:
    LH spring 48220-04300
    RH spring 48210-04660
    These are the correct springs that replace the old 4 leaf TSB springs, that were much better in my opinion.

    Access / DBL Cab Replacement Spring Kits for the old 3 leaf noodle springs: 04005-34204
    Replacement for the better 4 leaf "Harsh Ride" TSB springs: 04005-34404
    Install Kit: 04005-34104 for both.

    The new "Safety Replacement Springs for the Harsh Ride TSB Springs" (whew) are sitting about an inch lower than the old 4 leaf springs.

    Reviving this thread...
    Some are saying the original 4 leaf (3+1) leaf spring pack is better than the new recall 4 leaf (3+1) leaf spring back.
    Is this correct?

    I'm contemplating getting the recall springs to replace my old sagging original leaf springs but it sounds like I shouldn't as there isn't any improvement from the new springs to the originals... No increased weight capacity, no lift.

    Some low mileage 2015s with 4 leafs, which are same part numbers as recall ones certainly helped out my RC, even lifted the rear 1". Did this a few yrs back and still good to go. Didn't bother to waste time at dealership and spin wheel of danger having them "work" on my truck. NOT worth the risk.
