Day trips we carry several water bottles with us, during the summer we carry more than others. Camping trips I have a 7 gallon container I fill up along with a case or two of bottled water.

    And lots of beer...

I'd like to add to @Blackdawg list and suggest alternator (we've had them fail on the trail), and socket extensions.

Agreed I actually carry my oem one as a spare..forgot.

Extensions should be just in any tool kit too.

Lotta people's tool kits are pretty sparse I've noticed. I take my collection of tools for granted but some folks just have home owners basics like hammers and screwdrivers haha. I carry my OEM alt too even though it would be a huge pain to change my alt with the SC on now.

If going as a group, does it make sense for everyone to carry a complete array of tools and parts?

Save weight and assign each a specialized list.

Our group doesn't always stay whole, the OSK shouldn't be where you're concerned with shaving weight. It's important. My OSK and tools are separate because I try to carry the thing I don't think others will have tool wise as well but I wouldn't tell anyone else not to bring them because who knows. Better to be over prepared here.

I dont like useing others peoples tools, because if something happens to them then you gotta buy new stuff, best to use your own stuff and only borrow when it’s really needed imo

I hear you. Good on preparing and relying on being self sufficient.

I'm old enough that taking a cross country trips with no cell phone and carborated Engines was common.

I won't Even go to local store without my cell phone now.

    Man! I've become a pussy!

I'd agree if it was a complete stranger in a parking lot. But the folks I go wheeling with I have absolutely no problem opening my toolbox for. For the most part all the stuff I have is older Craftsman (lifetime warranty), Snapon/MAC (lifetime warranty), or for crap I don't think I'll use much HF (still lifetime warranty haha). But even then I trust than any of them would own up to breaking a tool anyway. Get some real manly man points for busting a Snapon haha

Im not worried about freinds breaking my tools, because ik it’s either under warranty or they will replace it. I just dont like breaking other people’s stuff lol.

Ha! The other day I was was across town and my phone died. Very unfamiliar with the area. I was thinking well I better head east then north to get close to an area I know. Thinking to myself I wish I had my Thomas guides again. So reliant on cell phone maps.

I have some junk ones from before the supercharger that managed to find their way into the glove box, sorta counts.

I keep plugs and wires on my truck always. I have a simple tool kit that always stays on my truck which has enough to get me off the side of the road in most situations.

I found this double cab who took a different approach to the flaking black weatherstripping. It doesn’t look too bad to be honest.

It looks like it’s white, but it’s actually the bare chrome behind the rubber coating.
