Today I said goodbye to my 08 TRD Sport Auto with 225,000 miles.

Was a great truck. Actually teared up a little turning over the keys. Weird to say about a truck but it's my Truck. I spend about 40 hours a week in it for work. Had some really great times.

I knew I wanted something a little newer. I test drove the 2018 DCOR Auto and 2018 DCS manual at a local dealer. I wanted the DCOR Manual but I was very unhappy in the way the local dealer treated me. Unwilling to budge on pricing and offered a joke of a price for my current vehicle as a trade I contacted a dealer with a better reputation but much further away.

I told them what I wanted and they said they would get it for me. I test drove the 2018 DCOR with 6 speed manual in quicksand on Friday and I just had to have it. In the end I got a great offer ($2,500 more) on the 08 and a great price on the 2018 and everything seemed to fall into place. So today I picked up the new truck.

The manual is a lot nicer than the earlier versions. Enjoyed this one much more than the 09 I test drove when I bought my 08.

Already ordered the black out tailgate letters. Going to be ordering a cap shortly. Still on the fence with the running boards. I kinda like the look of them but I'm not sure they are necessary.

I put almost 100 miles on it today. It was more fun than I expected. I forgot what it's like to be able to be in the power band all the time.

Congrats! On my test drives, I really loved the way the manual shifted and ran through the gears. For being a truck, the manual trans could certainly be a lot worse! I am still waiting on mine to come in from order.

Two weeks into ownership. 1250 Miles and some modifications and this is what she looks like.

Replaced the rear bumper caps with black, added the emblem overlays in black. Added the black tailgate insert letters. Vent Visors. Black OEM running boards.

I have my A.R.E. camper shell on order, still a few weeks out. All the chrome is gone except the bezel surrounding the grill. Will be replacing that soon. Deciding on keeping the grill or replacing it with another style.

Nice truck, I still see some chrome on the turn signal part of the mirrors...lol. There’s a mod for that too!
