Ive read places this isn’t recommended. My question is, why? And is anyone running this without issues?

    Edit to add: rear 5100’s

So many people here are running this combo. That's what I'm planning as well, OME 887s with bilstein 5100s

I have 5100s at the lowest spring perch and OME 886s. No problems for me in about 10k miles of on and off-road use.

My plan was Dakar leaf pack in the rear with bilstein 5100’s

I've read that some people have to use spacers in that case on the front to reduce the rake, but it also depends on which ome coils you pick

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
The reason is the billies and ome are not matched together. It is recommended, if going with ome, to get nitrocharger shocks instead of billies. The nitrocharger are made to complement the ome.

To add, nothing wrong with running billies and ome, just will be a little stiffer.

Just to clarify, your saying nothing wrong with OME Dakar Leafs and billies?

I think you need extended travel bilsteins and extended brake lines to run dakars.

285/75/r16 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T’s, Extang 2.0 hard tonneau tri-fold. Billstein 5100’s front/rear with OME 886 coils and Headstrong off-road 3 leaf progressive AAL. All speakers replaced with Kicker CS Series. BulletPoint Taco Bar with stubby CB mic holder and two-way FRS/GMRS radio holder. Uniden PRO505XL 40 ch CB. RCI engine and transmission skid plates. RCI sliders. Garmin Mini Dash Cam 2. CMC by Milogen Fabrication.
I recently got rid of my 2” spacers and replaced them with the 5100’s and OME 887’s up front and 5100’s in the back as well. The rear 5100’s will allow up to a 1.5” lift. Mine has no lift in the rear. The combo IMO rides very nicely, not as stiff as I have heard from others. 885’s on the other hand would be quite stiff if you don’t have an after market front bumper and/or winch because they’re designed to support the additional weight. Hope this provides some clarification. BTW they are set at 0.B341AF13-4060-4919-AAD6-11D311C22BF5.jpg
