Who (What) is Your Favorite Passenger(s)?

My first grandchild. She is looking at me asking herself who is picking her up from “school.”

Things have changed. Rear facing car seats with restraints like she is in a race car. Very different then when I took her dad with me everywhere in a single cab F150.

 

It's amazing any of us babies survived the '60s. My mom has pics of my first car seat from '69, and I was like "you strapped me in to THAT?"

Seriously, I'd have been better off in the glove box.

When I was a kid all I had was two Cincinnati phone books taped together and wrapped in Naugahyde (Naugas are extinct now, aren't they?) to sit on, sometime with, sometimes without a seatbelt. Loved the sixties!

 

My grandfather drove the whole family around in a single cab 2WD dodge step-side on trips to his cabin, with him and granny in the front, and me, my parents, and brothers, in the bed! And that was the 90’s!.....but it was a small town.

 

“Eightball”, he’s been riding with me for 25+ years. Never once have I heard him complain about my driving.

No need for me to "win." I stole this pic from google, but did do this a few times over the years with a 350z and an M3. The M3 actually has a dent in it forever now from a keg

 

In case my wife sees this, these are my favorite BACK SEAT passengers

 

Parents would strap in their groceries to keep the seatbelt warning from sounding while the kids were all over the back seat. The worst ones sat in the third seat in station wagons making faces and other gestures at the car behind. None were in a seat belt.

 

These two goons, even though their fur is the exact opposite color of my interior (especially the shepherd on the right):

 

$5 and she doesn’t say a word the whole ride when her mouth is full
