Just an update - Sil Glyde was ok at removing the squeak noises, but it still let all the traffic noise in especially in the rain. Washed and removed all the Sil Glyde since:

    1. Passengers would complain about touching the grease around the seals.

    2. I didn't like the sticky door feel every time a door was opened.

    3. Sil Glyde discolored while on the paint and became orange. It also collects dirt.

Applied Supreme Shine protectant (wasn't expecting much) - no good. Lots of tapping/squeaking noise while hitting bumps or cruising while the cabin flexes. I'm at a loss for a non-kludgy fix - may end up just getting new seals for the front doors as long as there is a revision version which addresses this issue. I can't stand hearing traffic and bad sounding exhausts whiz by right at my ear level while the windows are up.

I haven't had the issues you describe with the Sil Glyde. I used a really thin coat and the noise (high pitched hum is non existent now).

Anybody here cave and replace their stripping?

Curious if it’s worth it, 2 birds with one stone, to knock out the cross wind kazoo sound, too since Toyota seems to have revised their door seals.

It’s $75 each for new strips? Any idea how to install?

Update - quickly cleaned the trouble spots with a citrus based goo remover (actually, surfboard wax remover), and seemed to have done 90% of the work for me. Most random vibration squeaks are gone.

Still gives off noise when hitting bumps or uneven pavement but that’s the next challenge...
