I agree with the liquid wrench/pb blaster/wd-40 spray and leave it overnight.

You could probably do it without removing the tire but its going to be a lot harder and you'll probably wish you had. I say remove it, takes 10 min to take it off and you will probably save that amount of time with all the extra space you will have.

Yeah, I went with the 13wl model calipers. There's a lot of write-ups/how-to's on this upgrade. No new bumper or winch (yet), but I did need a brake job and figured I might as well upgrade. I looked into some rear disc conversion kits but that was just out of curiosity.

I did the rear line while the front was up on stands. My spare tire was already strapped down in my bed, so it was nice and roomy under there.

    Troy and Davey,
Thanks for the advice, it was a bit of a pain in the ass but the brake extension and brake bleed is done.

    Word.
Speaking of same cities, I'm headed down your way tonight. Picking up a truck tent from a member down in Mission Valley. I'm NOT looking forward to that drive on a weeknight but I need it asap. My kid and I are planning on doing the Mojave Trail beginning this Sunday, we're going to do it in 3 days. We'll see how it goes.

I haven't posted here in a while. So a few weeks ago I broke my engine purch (Drivers side) which meant pulling the engine to repair. Boy oh boy, what a task right....thank God for my buddy @GRIZZLY714 . While the motor was out we went ahead and replaced the timing belt and all associated parts as well as replacing the valve covers gaskets. @quetzal How did that happen? Did you jump your truck or something? Is it all put back together now? Also, good idea on getting some of the maintenance done while the engine was out.

Other than the mishap, your truck is looking good man!

220k on the odo is about all I can say. The mount was likely broken and I just never noticed it. So it gave until it couldn't give anymore, at which point it just broke off the frame. Yes, all good now!

Uh oh, I'm at 224k+, I'm going to take a closer look at my mounts the next time I get a chance.

Great to hear that it's all taken care of! We need to get together for a wheeling trip soon!

Yea bro, I hope my experience helps you and others to check your mounts. Especially as our miles begin to creek into the 200k.
